DON’T TRADE HAMELS

10 11 2009

Among the many rumors circulating around the Phillies’ offseason, there has been talks of trading Cole Hamels to the Blue Jays for Roy Halladay.

No. No. NO.

Yes, Halladay has been awesome in the past, but he’s older than Hamels, and who knows if he’ll be the same player he was before??

Not smart, kids. Not smart at all. But what was smart was turning down this rumors. The Phillies wouldn’t give up Hamels anyway, it isn’t a smart move.

Be sure to keep up with your Phillies/MLB off-season news on MLB Network. Hot Stove, a show on everything from trades to club news, will be airing again on Wednesday. They also have a blog, which will be fully running soon.

Guess you can’t win it every year…

9 11 2009

It stung, but it didn’t hurt.

The Phillies will be back next year!! 🙂 Look out, New York, cause you won’t get so lucky again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Although baseball is over, football is in the thick of its season.
…And then there were 2: Indianapolis and New Orleans holds steadfast onto their perfect season.
On the other end, and then there were none: With Tampa Bay’s win over Green Bay today, every team in the NFL has at least 1 win.
The Eagles were knocked off tonight with their tough loss to the Cowboys. It’s ok, boys. You’ll get San Diego next week. 🙂
I’ve been slacking….
4 11 2009
I know, I’m sorry guys…I’ve been slacking like CRAZY.
Unfortunately, it’s that time of the semester where everything is due at the same time…I haven’t been doing anything but homework for the past week. Thank you for that, Rowan…
But anyway, enough of the excuses, I’m going to try to get caught up in one post. Bare with me.
BASEBALL:
– The World Series is in full swing.  For those of you who have been living under a rock (and I mean that in the most loving tone 🙂 ) The Yankees seemed to end the Phillies’ hope by taking a compelling 3-1 lead in the Series. But, the Phillies aren’t called the Fightin’s for nothing! They played a beautiful game 5 to move the Series back to the Bronx. Good luck Phils!! I’ll be rooting for ya!! 😀
– Chase Utley is having an amazing Series. Being my favorite person on the face of the Earth (EVERYONE knows how much I love Chase 😉 ), I definitely think he deserves World Series MVP.  He has been chosen by ESPN and SportsCenter to win the title, even if they don’t win the Series. Good luck to my Chase!!!
FOOTBALL:
Week 8 has gone by with minimal drama, just good ol’ fashioned football games. There are 2 undefeated teams left- the Colts and the Saints. As far as the other side of the spectrum, there is 1 team without any wins- the Buccaneers. The Eagles have taken over the lead in the NFC East by annihilating the Giants. Have the Giants shown who they really are in this game? We shall see…
**Tonight is Game 6 of the World Series- 7:57 PM on Fox** (check local listings)
Highlights from Youtube=awesome.
How ’bout them PHILS???
29 10 2009
Game 1 is officially in the books.
What a game it was. The Phils definitely shut up the criticism. Good job guys!!
Chase and Cliff were the Yankee killers. I would love to see at least Chase do it again. 🙂
Let’s go get ’em tonight!!!!!
On the eve of the epic-ness…
28 10 2009
All I’ve been hearing is comparisons.
Who’s better: the Yankees or the Phillies??
Why answer the question before the series even starts?? That makes no sense.
But, whatever the answer to the question above is, it won’t matter until the games are played.
GO PHILS!!!! 🙂
New Jersey has been officially split in half.
26 10 2009
This is quite possibly the most exciting World Series matchup, ever.
The Philadelphia Phillies vs. the New York Yankees. It just sounds epic. It actually already has a nickname: the Liberty Series.
North Jersey vs. South Jersey. This is basically what it comes down to.
A-Rod, Derek Jeter, and Mark Teixeira vs. Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and Raul Ibanez.
Mariano Rivera vs. Brad Lidge.
And, for the first game at least: CC Sabathia vs. Cliff Lee.
It will be epic. Yes, I’ve said it before, but I’m saying it again because it’s true.
I just LOVE these radio Phillies mixes…
21 10 2009
Here’s yet another one I’ve heard on the radio, that one of my Facebook friends posted on their wall. It’s Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus (yes, I know I know…), but it’s called Phillies Going All the Way. 🙂
