How ’bout them PHILS???

29 10 2009

Game 1 is officially in the books.

What a game it was. The Phils definitely shut up the criticism. Good job guys!!

Chase and Cliff were the Yankee killers. I would love to see at least Chase do it again. 🙂

Let’s go get ’em tonight!!!!!

On the eve of the epic-ness…

28 10 2009

All I’ve been hearing is comparisons.

Who’s better: the Yankees or the Phillies??

Why answer the question before the series even starts?? That makes no sense.

But, whatever the answer to the question above is, it won’t matter until the games are played.

GO PHILS!!!! 🙂

Results football pool, week 7

27 10 2009

Here’s how I did for this week:

1:00 games-
New England @ Tampa Bay–New England
Green Bay @ Cleveland–Green Bay
San Francisco @ Houston–Houston
Minnesota @ Pittsburgh–Pittsburgh
Indianapolis @ St. Louis–Indianapolis
San Diego @ Kansas City–San Diego

4:05 games-
Buffalo @ Carolina–Buffalo
New York(j) @ Oakland–New York(j)
Atlanta @ Dallas–Dallas
Chicago @
Cincinnati–Cincinnati
New Orleans @ Miami–New Orleans

Sunday night game:
Arizona @ New York(g)–Arizona

Monday night game:
Philadelphia @ Washington–Philadelphia

Final result–> 8-5
…winning record, but I could’ve done better…

We STILL have undefeated teams:
Indianapolis Colts~6-0
Denver Broncos~6-0 (BYE week)
New Orleans Saints~6-0

…and we STILL have winless teams:
St. Louis Rams~0-7
Tampa Bay Buccaneers~0-7
Tennessee Titans~0-6 (BYE week)

The shocker teams had their BYE this week, so we shall see if they remain the best and the worst of the NFL

New Jersey has been officially split in half.

26 10 2009

This is quite possibly the most exciting World Series matchup, ever.

The Philadelphia Phillies vs. the New York Yankees. It just sounds epic. It actually already has a nickname: the Liberty Series.

North Jersey vs. South Jersey. This is basically what it comes down to.

A-Rod, Derek Jeter, and Mark Teixeira vs. Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and Raul Ibanez.

Mariano Rivera vs. Brad Lidge.

And, for the first game at least: CC Sabathia vs. Cliff Lee.

It will be epic. Yes, I’ve said it before, but I’m saying it again because it’s true.

I just LOVE these radio Phillies mixes…

21 10 2009

Here’s yet another one I’ve heard on the radio, that one of my Facebook friends posted on their wall. It’s Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus (yes, I know I know…), but it’s called Phillies Going All the Way. 🙂

Chooch-tober??

21 10 2009

At first, I laughed when I saw this on my Twitter homepage. But then I clicked on the link.

I love Carlos Ruiz. He is the most underrated Phillie on the team right now, everyone looks over him. But finally, he is getting his just desserts. Way to go Choochie!!! 🙂

Moving along to football…

20 10 2009

There are still multiple undefeated teams. Somehow, that completely amazes me. It probably shouldn’t though.

They are:
Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, and New Orleans Saints.
The kicker?  The Broncos are STILL undefeated. Wow. They do have a pretty good team, and showed it last night when they beat the San Diego Chargers.
The New York Giants were knocked off their high-horse when the Saints beat them on Sunday.

Of course, with immortality comes vulnerability. And by vulnerability, I mean the teams that haven’t tasted victory yet. (and the season’s more than a 1/4 way over)

They are:
Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and St. Louis Rams.
The shocker out of this pack? THE TENNESSEE TITANS. This shocks me more than the Broncos being undefeated. Wow. They must really be imploding, it’s a shame.
The Kansas City Chiefs won this week to put their winless misery to rest when they beat the Washington Redskins Sunday.

The NFL gets shocking every week, I suppose.
